Betty Jean Govan Franklin

Betty Jean Govan Franklin blessed the union of Albert and Vernestine Baldwin Govan. She was born August 14, 1945 in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended James E. Guinn School and was a 1964 graduate of Historic I. M. Terrell High School. As young girl, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior and was baptized into His Fold. Betty had been a faithful member of St. Matthews Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Troy Pope. Betty possessed an outgoing and energetic personality which endeared her to so many people. A great cook, she love to entertain and prepare meals and dinners for family and friends. A skilled seamstress, she created beautiful quilts and clothing. Two of her favorite past times were cheering for The Dallas Cowboys and playing dominoes. Betty was the true and sincere personification of a Christian mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She deeply loved her family and wanted them to always be taken care of.
