Beverly Ann Freeman

HURST -- Beverly Ann Freeman, 79, passed away Monday morning, February 3, 2014. Funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Lucas Funeral Chapel in Hurst. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5-7pm Friday at the funeral home. Beverly Ann, the oldest daughter of James H. McBride and E. Maxine Morin McBride Waters, was born May 16, 1934 in Oklahoma City. She grew up in Oklahoma City, having many fond memories of attending catholic grade school. She graduated from Oklahoma City Central High School in 1952 and attended Oklahoma City University. On April 23, 1955 she married Curtis (Curt, Butch) H. Freeman Jr. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. They traveled for 5 years for Curt’s job, and settled in their permanent home in Hurst, TX, where she chose to stay at home to raise their three sons. Her favorite pastimes were solving crossword puzzles, reading magazines, gardening in her backyard, tending her greenhouse, and decorating her home and garden room. She enjoyed spending time with her family at home and at their Granbury lake home on birthdays and holidays, especially on Christmas and the 4th of July. She also enjoyed caring for her cats, Fluffy and Fancy, and her pet chicken, "Chickie". She and Curt loved to travel, going to Canada, Mexico, Alaska and regularly to Branson, MO, the Texas Hill Country and to Hawaii, visiting there 15 times. She was associated with St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in North Richland Hills. There are no words that can convey the love, kindness and selfless support she always gave during her entire life to her family, neighbors, and to those around her. She was an inspiration throughout her life, as well as during her 20 month long battle with ovarian cancer, never losing her sense of humor or her compassion for others, even during the last few days of her life. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her sister Barbara Jo McBride, and her lifelong friend Yvonna Ford. The family greatly appreciates the personal, professional and care provided by Texas Hospice the last few weeks of her life. Beverly, Mom, Grandmother, Fafa-we love you and you will always be in our hearts. The way you lived your life and what you shared with us every day through your everlasting kindness, patience and unconditional love, will forever be woven into our lives and into the lives of our loved ones that will come to be with the passing of time. She is survived by her husband of 58 years and their sons, Steven, Michael and David and their wives, Pamela, Michelle and Melanie; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
