Emily Sue Oliver

Emily Sue Oliver, 74, passed away January 28, 2014. Celebration of Sue’s life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Holly Brook Baptist in Hawkins, TX. A visitation with family will be held from 12 – 1pm. Memorials: The family requests that, if you wish, memorials may be made to MDA: Muscular Dystrophy Assoc or Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas, TX. Sue was born in 1939 to Rev. Lenard Barnes and Claudia Bee Barnes in Dallas, Texas. Sue will be especially remembered for her generous and loving heart. We will never forget her beautiful way of making everyone around her laugh, smile and feel special. Sue ensured that her home was always open to anyone who needed help. She truly would give the shirt off of her back to anyone and she showed that by donating to several charities. Sue loved gardening. She worked for the Dallas Cowboys for 21 years. Her grandchildren and “grand-dogs “were the light of her life. She was and will always be a hero to her family in every aspect of the word. Sue leaves behind her husband, Jerry; daughters, Rhonda Truan (Lawrence), and Nancy Stringer (Louie); son, Bobby Oliver; grandchildren, Jessica Oliver, Ryan Truan, Emily Truan, Nathan Stringer, Robert Oliver, and Elizabeth Oliver; sisters, Kay Carpenter, and Nancy Brown; as well as her beloved pets, Zane and Ozzy. Additionally, the family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Tafel, her nurse, Debbie, all of the staff at Professional Hospice Care, as well as Dr. Rehan Khan and the staff of DFW Prompt Care for all their care and compassion for our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister during these last years.
