Fannie Marie (Lloyd) Montgomery was born on February 23, 1947 on Bayou Rapides in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the union of the late William Henry Lloyd and Mediean (Butler) Lloyd. She went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 14, 2020 at the home of her younger daughter, Tremika Nicole Montgomery, in Arlington, Texas. After graduating from Peabody Senior High School in 1964, Fannie spent some time at Southern University, A&M. Following her time at Southern University, Fannie worked at CLECO for 28.5 years as a Senior Accountant Coordinator until she retired in 2003; she also worked at Office Depot until 2016. Fannie was a member Oakland Baptist Missionary Church, where her late husband, James Montgomery, served as a deacon under the leadership of the late Reverend Leonard A. Dorsey, Jr. Fannie enjoyed spending her free time traveling with her children, grandchildren and “grandpuppies”. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, William Henry Lloyd and Mediean (Butler) Lloyd; her husband, James Montgomery; other immediate family members, including a younger brother. Fannie survived by: two daughters, Sharon Renee Elie (Kerry) of Boyce, Louisiana, and Captain (Retired, US Army Reserve) Tremika Nicole Montgomery of Arlington, Texas; special daughter, Jessica Veretta Ann Kirklin of Alexandria, Louisiana; two granddaughters, Shaderrion T’Cole-Lloyd Montgomery of Monroe, Louisiana and Ty’kita Tesia Fennix of Ball, Louisiana; great-grandson, Asher James Williams (Ty’kita); two sisters, Sarah B. (Holt) Marbs of Covington, Georgia and Lyndel (Lloyd) Vaughn of Alexandria, Louisiana; a host of nieces and nephews: Rodric “Rock” Marbs (Cynthia) of Alexandria, Louisiana; Denise Green (Thaddeus) of Covington, Georgia; Patricia Ann Oliver (Charles) of Lithonia, Georgia; Towana Marbs of Snellville, Georgia; Jacqueline Marbs of Conyers, Georgia; Jewel Vaughn, Jr. of Houston, Texas; great-niece, Sheterroca Shanea’ Marbs of Snellville, Ga; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other relatives. A memorial dinner to honor both James and Fannie Montgomery is scheduled to take place in February 2021. Details will be provided when arrangements have been finalized.
