After a short illness, Gwanetha Ruth Bartelson Roberts was called to be with our Lord, on Thursday, February 2, 2017. Gwanetha was born in Audubon, Iowa on December 16, 1936. She was the second child of five, born to Ruth Jensen Bartelson and Forest O. Bartelson. She crew up and attended school in Hastings, Nebraska. She married Hal D. Roberts in September 1962, and for the next 14 years, they traveled around the United States and Europe with his duty assignments in the U.S. Air Force. With his retirement, they settled in the Fort Worth, Texas area in 1976. Gwanetha was preceded in death by her husband, both of her parents and her younger brother (Robert “Bart” Bartelson). She is survived by their three children, Kirk L. Roberts and his wife (Jeana) of North Richland Hills, Texas, Sulene V. Krause and her husband (Jon) of Port Angeles, Washington, and Anice V. Hughes and her husband (Richard) of North Richland Hills, Texas; her three sisters (Emy Kosmos, Patti Watson, and Mary Palmer); five grand-children (Christine Tatum, Heather Edelman, Rea-Ann Hughes, Charles Krause, and Victoria Krause); and four Great Grand-Children. A visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst Texas, on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Anyone wishing to share thoughts and prayers is encouraged to attend during our time of Prayer and Sharing, from 4:30 – 5:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend a reception immediately following the time of Prayer and Sharing, at North Pointe Baptist Church, 147 E. Hurst Blvd, Hurst. A memorial and burial will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:30 am, at the National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, where she will find her final resting place next to her Husband and the Love of her life.
