Hannah LaVerne Holloway

Hannah LaVerne Holloway, born November 2, 1923, in Clay Center, Kansas to Swedish farmers, George Clarence and Ethel Edella Bjork, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2014. She was the youngest of six children; George Clarence, Arnold Melvin, Orval Ardin, Doris Edella, and Charles Merrell. Hannah owned and operated her own child care service for 40 years and served as associate pastor at First Family Assemblies of God in Albuquerque, New Mexico for about 10 years. She was on staff as senior’s pastor, single’s pastor and counselor. She was ordained in 1983 with the Assemblies of God. She retired at age 72. Shortly after retirement she married Rev. William Holloway and relocated to Florida for 12 years until his death. She has been a resident of Texas for the last 4 years. She is survived by her seven children; Alice Compton and husband Gary, Connie Gamble and husband Rick, Keith Elder and wife Marlys, Jerry Elder and wife Billie, Larry Elder and wife Rhonda, Alex Holloway and wife Shelly, William Holloway and wife Barbara; 19 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 2 great - great grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husbands, Rexford Elder which passed away February, 1988, and Rev. William Holloway which passed away February, 2011. She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
