Jack Bicknell

FORT WORTH -- Jack Bicknell, 90, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday in Lucas Funeral Chapel, 517 N. Sylvania. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Jack was born May 7, 1923, in Bailey to Gene and Linnie Bicknell. He graduated from Leonard High School and served in the Coast Guard from 1941 to 1945. He married his wife, Freda, in 1947 and they were together 65 years. As a Fort Worth policeman, he retired as deputy chief after 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer, playing with the Meadowbrook Golf Club Seniors. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 31, 2013; brothers, Bill and Jimmy; and one sister, Betty. Survivors: Son, Jack Scott and wife, Peggy; daughters, Carol and Jo Ellen; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Sybil and Jean; and many more extended family members.
