Cole was born on July 8, 1998 in Houston, Texas, but he lived most of his life in Southlake where his family moved when he was 3 years old. An almost lifelong Carroll Dragon, Cole began school as a kindergartener at Old Union Elementary and was a sophomore at Carroll High School at the time of his passing. Cole was an avid outdoorsman and inquisitive scientist. Among many hobbies and interests, Cole was a member of the Carroll Clay Target Team and the STEM Club. Continuing his family's commitment to community service, he was an active member of SASO (Scholars and Athletes Serving Others). Cole's greatest passions however were scouting and the outdoors. Cole was a scout for a decade and he achieved the rank of Life Scout, only one rank short of Scouting's highest honor, Eagle Scout. Some of Cole's favorite scouting memories included his attendance at National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) at Twin Arrows and National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE) at Northern Tier in Wisconsin. Survivors: Cole is survived by his parents, Karen Wright Malone and Tom Malone; his grandmother, Evelyn Wright; his sisters, Mary Beth Malone (Hector Infante) and Emily Malone Young (B.B. Young); brother, Thomas Malone as well as nephews, Hector and Gabe Infante and Austin, Bennett and Carter Young; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
