Ethelinda Ellen Fredrick, age 83, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2014 in Southlake, Texas after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born August 30, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Linda attended South Side High School and Indiana University. While attending Indiana University, Linda was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. Linda was also one of the first women in university history to be elected to the Student Union Board. Linda worked as an elementary teacher in Crawfordsville, Indiana for a short period of time before marrying Wade Fredrick and moving back to Fort Wayne. Throughout her life Linda was an active member of First Baptist Church and Faith Baptist Church. She also volunteered as a docent at the Ft. Wayne Art Museum. Later in life Linda worked as a reference librarian at the Fort Wayne Public Library. Survivors include her sister, Patricia Butzow, Eliot, Maine; son Mark Fredrick, Keller, Texas; daughter Valerie Null, Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents Alma Farnham and Ivan Farnham. A memorial service is planned for spring at Faith Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. She will be buried in Poe Cemetery in Poe, Indiana. The time and date will be published in the Journal Gazette approximately one month before the memorial service.
