Lynda Carol Overstreet

Lynda Carol Overstreet, 72, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2015. Funeral: Noon Monday in the chapel of Williams & Lucas Funeral Home on North Sylvania in Fort Worth. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: begins at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Presbyterian Night Shelter for Women and Children or the American Cancer Society. Lynda was born on Oct. 12, 1942, in Fort Worth to Doyle and Mary Frances Baker and graduated from Poly High School. She married Bobby on Aug.t 21, 1964, and they were married for over 50 years. Lynda was a caregiver for many and liked the title of "Domestic Engineer." She took care of many elderly, babies and children; she was a giver. Lynda always took care of others before herself. She loved all her grandchildren so much. They all called her "Nyny." She kept the nursery at Oakhurst Presbyterian Church for years. She gave a lot of her time to save things for charities, always giving them clothes, food, or anything else that might help them. She loved listening to music, being outdoors, and spending time with her grandkids. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard Arthur Burrell. Survivors: Lynda is survived by husband, Bobby; daughter, Lee Ann Dempsey and husband, Ronnie; son, Gary Overstreet; brothers, Robert Baker and wife, Lonna, and Randy Burrell; grandchildren, Justin, Chase, Jordyn Underhill and Jordan Dempsey; great- grandchildren, Kylie, Ty, Kalanie and Kambree.
