FORT WORTH -- Rev J. W. Carlile, 83, passed away December 14, 2014. Funeral Service: 11 AM Thursday, December 18 at Refuge Church (former Gospel Temple Church), 2101 N. Riverside Dr., FT Worth, TX 76111. Visitation: 6-8 PM Wednesday, December 17 at Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania, Ft Worth. Internment: Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Rev. Carlile was born December 30, 1930 in Seminole, Oklahoma. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and spent his service time in Korea. He graduated from Southwestern Bible University and was always expanding and growing through continuing education classes from many sources including Northwest Texas University. He studied Accounting, Real Estate and many other subjects to increase his vast knowledge. He was honored to be an ordained minister for more than 50 years for the Assemblies of God. He pastored in Texas, Utah and Colorado. He had a 45 year career in tax preparation focusing on helping churches and their minister's with their tax obligations. While pastoring churches he also had successful careers in real estate sales and home construction, using these skills to build and expand each church and to help members of each congregation he served. He was active in The Riverside Lions Club with a willingness to serve in whatever capacity he was needed. J.W. was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors: Wife, Floy W. Carlile; Sons, David Carlile, Dan and wife Patti Carlile, Tim and wife, Darla Hensley; Daughters Darlene and husband, James Elliott, Laretta and husband, Harry Carrell and Pam Hensley; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; Sisters, Mary and Lael Potter, Deb Shawna Stewart, Wanda Jean and Wade Haley.
