Rev. Paul Gordon Paschall

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Rev. Paul Paschall, a man after God's own heart, entered into his eternal heavenly home on Friday, December 26, 2014. FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Wednesday at North Pointe Baptist Church, 147 E. Hurst Blvd. Interment: Bear Creek Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at North Pointe Baptist Church. Paul was a resident of North Richland Hills, TX, where he served his Lord faithfully in ministry as a gifted Worship Pastor, evangelist and discipler. Paul was born on August 9, 1942, in Cushing, Oklahoma to Gordon and Beula Paschall. He spent his childhood with his siblings, brother Walt Paschall and sisters Della Hutton and Marian Flynn in West Virginia and Indiana, where their father was a pastor and church planter. In 1959, Paul came to Oklahoma Baptist University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Music. It was there that he met the love of his life, Judith Ann Wilks, who was to become his partner in ministry and soulmate companion. Upon graduating from OBU, they were married on June 15, 1963, in Oklahoma City, OK. If ever two were one, then surely it was Paul and Judy. Paul continued his education in Ft. Worth, TX, where he completed a Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. His calling to ministry and passion for leading others to a life of worship was fulfilled as he daily surrendered his life to serving the Lord. Paul served as Worship Pastor in the following churches: First Baptist Church, Choctaw, OK; First Baptist Church, Justin, TX; Ridglea West Baptist Church, Ft. Worth; First Baptist Church, Moore, OK; North Richland Hills Baptist Church, and North Point Baptist Church of Hurst, TX. As a loving husband and father, Paul’s ministry began with his family. His wife and children, Paula Kaye Compton and husband Odus of Shawnee, OK and Clint Paschall and wife Tonia of Katy, TX, were the light of his life. As “Papa”, he delighted in his grandchildren, Blake and wife Michelle, Caleb, Annah Jane, Lindsey, Cade, Rachel, Micah, Nate, Noelle, Charity, and great-granddaughter Adeline. Paul exhorted his family to be a tribe of “Levites” who surrendered their lives to worship and ministry. Paul’s favorite scripture verse was Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” His was a life well-lived indeed. He fought the good fight, and entered into the presence of the Lord to the words of, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Our hearts grieve the loss of our beloved husband, father, brother, Papa, friend and mentor. We are lives that are changed for eternity because of his impact and relationship. But we grieve as those who have eternal hope (1 Thess. 4:13), and look forward with longing to the day we are reunited with Paul for eternity in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
