Ms Ruby Lee Simpkins

Ruby Lee Simpkins blessed the union of Pearl (Young) and William Baldwin Sr. on March 15, 1923 in Cameron, Texas. On July 13, 2017, JESUS CHRIST welcomed her into The Garden of Eternal Beauty and Peace. The family relocated to Fort Worth where Ruby attended the James E. Guinn school. At a young age, Ruby professed Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior and was baptized into the fold of Christ. Under the pastorate of Rev. Lonnie Griggs, Ruby chose Mount Carmel to be her church home. For over 60 years she was a strong supporter of Mount Carmel serving when needed including as an usher and on the Mission Board. Ruby dearly loved attending the church Sunday School. The failure of her health was to impede the church attendance and activities to which she was so devoted. Affectionately called "Antie" by her family and friends, Ruby possessed an outgoing and engaging personality which endeared her to so many people. A voracious reader, the Bible was her most studied text. Her knowledge and interpretation of passages were deep and enlightening. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the Dallas Cowboys. Ruby was united in matrimony with Lee Edward Houston who preceded her in death in 1971. She later married Lonnie Simpkins who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents Pearl and William Baldwin; step-mother, Josephine Baldwin; siblings, Edward Baldwin, William Baldwin Jr., Hazle Baldwin and Vernestine Baldwin. Cherishing the warmth of her precious memory: Nieces: Betty Franklin and Pearlie Henderson; Great-Niece: Sophia Henderson; Great-Nephews: Antwane Henderson and Christopher Henderson; Half-Sister: Lisa Baldwin and extended family, friends and those blessed to have known her.
