Amparo “Amy” Alejandro, 104, passed away Friday 23, 2026 surrounded by her family. Amparo “Amy” Alejandro was born March 11, 1922 in Fort Worth, TX to Jose Rivera and Inez Cruz. Amy is the Mother, and Grand Mother of 5 generations of the Alejandro family. Upon the death of her Husband Frank after 72 years of marriage in 2014, She assumed the role of Matriarch of the Alejandro family and will forever hold that title in our hearts. Amparo’s biggest passion was being a seamstress. She was fabulous. Having sewn many bridal gowns and bridesmaid’s dresses over the years. She was well known in the community for her dress making capabilities. Amparo worked at stores like Monning’s Downtown Fort Worth, Margo La Mode’s, Bridal Touch and Bridal images to name a few places. She had once fitted and made alterations to a dress for a Miss Texas pageant Contestant because of her perfection to detail. It was as a Seamstress that the nickname Amy was created and it stuck. Her Love for her Family was undeniable. She made sure you were on the right track with your life, and if you ever needed anything you only had to ask. Each and every family member has their very own Amparo “Amy” story they can share. She loved us all individually and we all carry that love forever. She will be missed by many, but we all know that we have a new Angel looking over us.
