Betty "Maxine" Hearne

Betty “Maxine” (Mitchell) Hearne was born on April 30, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Sylvia (Davis) Mitchell and John E. Mitchell. She passed away on September 1, 2024 at home in Fort Worth at the age of 89. 

Maxine attended Riverside High School in Fort Worth, Texas. She helped teach kindergarten at Friendly Lane Baptist Church where she was a devoted member for many years. She loved sports and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. Her true passion was cooking and sharing her love with her family with her recipes. She truly enjoyed the company of her cat, Randy, and her visits with her friends from Meals on Wheels. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harmon Harvey Hearne; brothers, John Mitchell and Wayne Mitchell; sister, Jane Seymour; and grandson, Jeremiah Hartsell. 

Maxine is survived by her son, Ricky Hartsell, Jr. and wife, Laura Pickard of Bedford; daughter, Pamela Copeland of North Richland Hills; grandchildren, T.C. Hartsell, Miranda Cromwell and husband, Walter, Jennifer Meals and husband, Ryan and Todd Dodgin and wife, Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Colby, Jerimiah, Makiah, Malachi, Tanner, Ty V., Trey, Ty M., Payton, and Jack; great-great grandchildren, Asher, Brylee, Boone and Briggs; numerous nieces and nephews and her cat, Randy. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 13, 2024 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery located at 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
