HURST -- Billy Ray Scribner, 73, of Hurst peacefully passed away at his home with his family on Friday, April 10, 2015. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Billy was born and raised in Fort Worth. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1960-1964; from 62-63 in South Vietnam with the HMM-163 Squadron. He and Melinda lived in Hurst for 48 years and Billy retired from Bell Helicopter after 36 years. He was a proud member of the Hurst Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite, VFW Post 4695, and American Legion Post 379. Billy loved being with his family and relaxing with his cats, Boots, Ghost and Missy. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Crawford and Bonnie Scribner, and brother, Jimmy Scribner. Survivors: Loving wife of 49 years, Melinda Scribner; children, Kimberly Eckhard and husband, Scott, Billy R. Scribner Jr.; grandchildren, Victoria Eckhard and Corbin Ray Scribner.
