Bobbie Roy Netherland

HURST -- Bobbie Roy "Herky" Netherland, 74, a good and simple man, passed away peacefully Monday, May 27, 2013. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Boyd Cemetery in Boyd. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Herky, the son of John C. and Minnie Reaves Netherland, was born Feb. 22, 1939, in Fort Worth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a draftsman in the steel tower business. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Linda Netherland, he was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings. Survivors: Son and daughter, Rick and Shelby Ivy of Ponder; sisters, Doris Dunlap of Hurst and Velma Zarate and husband, Lupe, of Aledo; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
