Bonnie Louise Stevenson

Bonnie Louise Stevenson North Richland Hills, Texas - Bonnie Louise Stevenson passed away on October 6, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Bonnie was born on April 9, 1930 in Dawson Springs, Kentucky to Delphine and Perry Williams. A fiercely independent woman, Bonnie raised three boys on a small family farm in New York; worked as a cook for many years; and ultimately retired as a nurse’s aide from a Nursing Home in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Bonnie was never afraid to tell it like she saw it, would try to help anyone in need, and felt that she had really made a difference for the residents while she was a nurse’s aide. Although she never wanted to be in a nursing home as a patient, her mental decline combined with the dementia brought on by the ever increasing progression of Alzheimer’s, made it nearly impossible to provide her with adequate care outside of a nursing home environment. Despite the care she received in the nursing home, and the valiant multiyear fight that she waged against the Alzheimer’s disease, Bonnie finally achieved peace on Monday, October 6, 2014. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Delphine and Perry J. Williams, her husband Leo Edward Stevenson, her brother Perry Williams Jr., and her two sisters Naomi Ruth Harryman, and Amma Jane Haile. Survivors – Bonnie is survived by her three sons Bruce Wayne Stevenson (TX), Clark Kent Stevenson (GA), and Perry Cecil Stevenson (KS); nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Service – Bonnie’s immediate family will celebrate her life privately, and request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in lieu of flowers.
