Ms. Celestine Smith Butler

Celestine Butler was born om June 26, 1942 in St. Louis, MO to Lula Mae Smith. Celeste, as she was affectionately known, attended Vashon High School and confessed her Faith in Christ at an early age at Christ Southern Mission Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev/ Gore. She later joined Mt. Beulah Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. E.. G. Shields. Celeste was employed with St. Louis State Hospital for 31 years and retired in 1995. Her Favorite Hobbies were Bowling, Shopping, Listening to Music and attending Church. Her most treasured passion was working with the Senior Citizens at Bridgeton's Senior Center, where she was well loved. On August 9, 2017, Celeste received her call from the Lord to come home. Celeste leaves to cherish her memory her Daughters: Antoniette Hill and Allison Hill, Felicia Hill preceded her in death. Two Grandchildren: Celestine Ann Hill and Kerry Hill; two Great-Grandsons Darren T. Harris and Dylan D. Majors; three Siblings: Wendy Smith, Sandy Mathews and Gale Mathews and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, co-workers; and Special Lifelong Friends. The family of Celestine Butler would like to express our sincere appreciation for the Prayers, Calls, Visits, Tokens of Love and other expressions of sympathy shown during our time of sadness.
