SOUTHLAKE -- Charles "Chock" Monroe McPherson passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Chock, as he was known by family and friends, was born June 9, 1919, in Southlake. He was the No. 1 fan of the Carroll Dragons and volunteered his time for 28 years as the sports clock operator and loved every minute of it. Survivors: His beloved wife of 63 years, Lou Etta McPherson; son, Larry McPherson; daughter, Joyce Hitt and her husband, Bobby; grandsons, Corey, Deven, Christopher and Derek Hitt and wife, Brandi; great-granddaughters, Emily and Amy; two brothers; one sister; and a host of nieces and nephews.
