FORT WORTH--Cleavon Mackey Jr., 68, a retired GM employee, died Thursday August 17., 2017 SERVICE: 11:00 am Tuesday Sept. 12, 2017, the chapel of Williams & Lucas Funeral Home. Inurnment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. He was born to the parents of Cleavon Mackey, Sr. and Joyce Jordon Mackey. From an early age, he was reared by his mother, Joyce Jordan Stewart and step-father A. C. Stewart, Jr. Chevron accepted Christ and was baptized as a young child at Macedonia Baptist Church in Midland, Texas. Chevron attended Carver High School and later graduated from Midland High School. He was drafted into the United States Military Services and served in the Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk. When he returned from Vietnam, having won the Bronze Star, Cleavon moved to Fort Worth where he became employed with the Union Pacific Railroad. While residing in Fort Worth, Cleavon met the late Helen Brown and to their union there are two daughters, Cleavia and Irra Mackey. Cleavon cherished his family and enjoyed his pastime at Circle L5 riding his horse. HE LEAVES TO CHERISH HIS MEMORY: SON, Terrance Montgomery; DAUGHTERS, Cleavia Mackey Williams (Eric) and Irra Simone Joshua (Jase III); SISTERS, Louise Mackey Hawkins (James) and Crystal Yvonne Stewart; BROTHER, Andrew (Trey) Charles Stewart III (Tamaria); 14 Grandchildren plus Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
