?FORT WORTH -- Cora Allen Faubion, 84, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully Friday evening, June 30, 2006, in the hospice unit of a local care center. ??? Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. The Rev. Dr. Gary Miller will officiate and will be assisted by his father, the Rev. Don Miller. Burial: She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Memorial Park. ??? Bearers of her casket will be Steven Strong, Scott Strong, Allen Dobbins, Mike Becan, Eric Curran, Stephen Chaffee, Ryan Kinkade and James Sowell. ??? Memorials: Mrs. Faubion's family suggests that friends may honor her memory by making contributions to Community Hospice of Texas Hospice House at James L. West Special Care Center, 1111 Summit Ave., Fort Worth 76102; or to a charity of choice. ??? A native of Orient, Cora Belle Allen was born Oct. 18, 1921, the daughter Orville and Verna Palmer. She married E.L. "Cotton" Faubion in 1947. ??? Cora was a longtime owner and operator of several salons, including Cora's Beauty Salon on Fort Worth's East Side before retiring in 1984. A caring and compassionate woman, she mentored many of her young associates, instilling in them pride and enjoyment in their field of work. ??? Cora's interests included Bible studies. She was a 50-year member of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church. ??? Survivors: Husband of 59 years, E.L. "Cotton" Faubion; daughters, Lannie Dobbins and Trilby Strong and her husband, David, all of Fort Worth; son, Rodney "Butch" Faubion and his wife, Tamara of McAllen; grandchildren, Allen Dobbins and his wife, Tracy, Leslie Dobbins Becan and her husband Michael, Steven Strong and his wife, Janet, Scott Strong and his wife, Evonne, Jennifer Faubion Curran and her husband, Eric, Stephanie Faubion Chaffee and her husband, Stephen and Ryan Kinkade; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Phillips of Lubbock.
