???FORT WORTH -- David Richard "Crockett" Parrott, 75, a loving brother and devoted friend who never met a stranger, passed away peacefully and entered the gates of heaven Friday, June 9, 2006, at a Fort Worth nursing center after a courageous battle with Alzheimer?s disease and other health-related problems. ??? Celebration of life: will be held at his home place in Woodson. A service at the grave to bury his cremated remains will be held Friday, Oct. 13, in Woodson Cemetery, Throckmorton County. ??? David Richard Parrott was born March 21, 1931, in Woodson. He worked as a ranch hand in his earlier years for Lee and Bell Atkinson ranches in Texas and Oklahoma. He also showed livestock at stock shows throughout Texas and Oklahoma. He enjoyed living his later years in the Fort Worth area. He especially enjoyed all the restaurants and festivities in the north side Stockyards area. ??? In addition to his parents, William Arthur and Clyde Parrott, David was preceded in death by his brother, William Arthur Parrott Jr. ??? The family extends gratitude and appreciation to the excellent devoted care of Westhaven Nursing Center and the hospice staff and LifeCare Hospital staff. ??? Survivors: Brothers, Johnny Parrott and his wife, Jean, Tommy Parrott and Jack Parrott and his wife, Barbarott; sisters, Norma Jean Cumby, Colleen Townsley, Carolyn Holloway, Cayloma Wood and her husband, Maurice, and Josephine Alice Miller; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
