David Warnock, PhD. Lt. USN (Ret.)

Rev. David Ronald Warnock, Ph.D., a retired U.S. Navy lieutenant, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at age 77. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst. Dave was born Aug. 24, 1935, in El Dorado, Ark. Dave was a proud pilot of the U.S. Navy for 5 1/2 years. He received both his MDiv and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He was a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church, and a resident of Hurst for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Halcyone Vivian Welborn Warnock and Reed Leslie Warnock, and an infant son, Patrick Timothy Warnock. Survivors: His wife of 55 years, Adoria Warnock; his children, Lanette Sparks (Gary), Lisa Janonis (Ed), Laurie Dickens (John), Leann Kelli Warnock and Michael Warnock (Vicki); his grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua and Jayme Sparks, Brittany Richardson-Brinkley (Brian), Erin Janonis and Megan Parmely(Joshua), Andrew Luig and Ashlyn Dickens, Neil and Nathan Clack and Austin Armstrong, Preston and Alexis Warnock; and his great-grandson, William Trevor Sparks.
