Dominic "Mickey" Rovetto, 75, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014. Funeral service 1:00pm Wednesday, St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview Drive, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180. Born in Butler, Pennsylvania, Mickey lived in Texas since 1993. Prior to coming to Texas, he lived in North Carolina, Kansas, Louisiana, Delaware and Missouri due to employment commitments. He served his country as a proud member of the U.S. Air Force 1956-1961. Mickey spent his whole life in the dry-cleaning and laundry industries. He attended school at the National Dry-cleaning Institute in Silver Springs, Maryland. Over the next 42 years his career exploded beginning as a manager, owner operator, V.P. of operations, sales professional, district manager and V.P. of Sales. He retired in 2004 from Ecolab Inc. One of the highlights of his career was having a contract with the University of NC athletic department for the cleaning of the football and basketball uniforms, etc. This was a great honor for someone that was an avid sports fan. He valued his friendship with people that he met throughout his life and always stayed in touch with those he felt close to. "You meet a lot of people in your life, you make a lot of acquaintances, but you can count your true friends on one hand" was a saying that he used many times. He felt blessed because of the number of people that he had the opportunity to meet. He loved his family and was very proud of his Italian heritage. He is survived by his wife, Lou Rovetto; sons, Dominic Jr. and wife, Debbie, David and wife, Cindy; daughter, Denise Scramlin and husband, Jeff; grandson, Dominic "Nicky" Rovetto; step-sons, Steve and Barry Gilbreath and families.
