Heaven gained an angel, Saturday, May 9th, 2015. Dorothy “Dottie” Bradshaw, 88 years, was born February 23, 1927. She passed from this world after a brief illness and is now with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Baseball was Dottie’s favorite sport. With temperatures from 34-108 degrees, she rarely missed Brandon’s baseball games. Her last day on earth was no exception. While she lay in her hospital bed she was keeping up with his regional game. She was told that Brandon’s team was now only down by two. She put a huge smile on her face and the last words she spoke were, “I knew they could do it!” Howard Hawks went on to win the game. We can imagine her saying from Heaven as she did many times, “Great game boys!” She loved Brandon’s teams, especially the Richland Rebels and the Hawks. As a friend said, “She now has the best seat in the house.” Dottie said that Kaylei will always be her baby with a good heart, McKenna is Dottie’s doll and is so sweet, Pierson is a good boy with the best smile and Kinsley kept her laughing with her spunky personality. Dottie always had a smile on her face and was like a grandmother and great-grandmother to many. She gave true unconditional love to everyone she knew and was an inspiration to many. She always put her family above herself. One of the last things she said was, “Love one another.” If you prefer in lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Richland High Scholl Rebels Baseball. She was an only child preceded in death by Johnny Crump, father and Jane “Janie” Mitchell, mother. Surviving her are: her only child, Cynthia “Cindy” Maine and husband David Maine, granddaughter Melanie Maine and partner Jessica Lee, granddaughter Angela Maine, great-grandchildren Brandon, Kaylei, McKenna, Pierson and Kinsley Maine, cousin Steve Stanley
