Erma LaVelle Taif

HALTOM CITY -- Erma LaVelle Taif, 87, went to be with our heavenly Father on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: noon Thursday. LaVelle, a native of Sipe Springs, was born Dec. 28, 1925, to William E. and Nettie E. Lakey Smith. She was a retired bookkeeper. In addition to her parents and brother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clayton Taif, and a great-grandson, Christopher Gorman. Survivors: Son, Keith Taif; daughter, Janis Gailbreath and husband, Terry; grandsons, Clayton Gorman and wife, Jenny, and Steven Gorman; and great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Evan and Hailey Gorman.
