Ethel Miller Carroll

Ethel Miller Carroll was born November 2, 1935, to the late Oliver Miller and Alice Williams Miller in Everman, Texas. She professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member of the Church of Christ denomination.

Ethel grew up in the Stop Six Area of Fort Worth, Texas. She graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in 1954 and then attended Tyler College in Tyler, Texas. She married Walter C. Carroll: Four children blessed this union. She joined St. James A.M.E. Church where her husband was a member and faithfully served on the stewardess board, the usher board, and as a youth supervisor.

Ethel worked in the grocery business for over 50 years. During this time, she mentored several young people and was affectionately and respectfully admired for her generous spirit. She loved caring for and encouraging others, especially young people. She also loved cooking, decorating her home, and entertaining her family.

Ethel was a steady presence in her community, a lover of children, and a good friend to those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Ethel Miller Carroll entered rest on June 30, 2025.

She is forever cherished in memory by her 4 children: Rev. Sandra R. Smith, Michael W. Carroll, Reginald L. Carroll, and Janice M. Benson (Gary); 6 grandchildren: Michael Carroll II, Alexis Benson, Ja'Loni Benson, Jonathan Benson, Regina Carroll, and Talina Osborne; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a host of nieces and nephews; and 2 special friends and neighbors: Lula Green and Linda Green.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 P.M., Friday, July 11, 2025 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 12, 2025 also at the Chapel of Williams and Lucas Funeral Home.
