Gerry McGinley

HURST -- Gerard E. McGinley "Gerry" , 73, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 28, 2014. Born to the late John Francis and Kathleen (Doud) McGinley, Gerry grew up in Wyoming, PA, as the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. After graduating from Wyoming Memorial High School, in 1959, he moved to New York City where he began his career with American Airlines and met his wife, Marjorie. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they raised their two daughters, Nancy and Judy. The family moved to Texas in 1991. Gerry, known by many as "Mr. American Airlines", retired from AMR/Sabre in 2005 after 41 year of service. He loved his work, but his greatest treasures were his wife, children, grandchildren, and 34 nieces and nephews. Always a great story teller, he loved to share memories with each special person in his life. Gerry is survived by his wife of 46 years Marge; daughters, Nancy (Joe) McAdams, and Judy McGinley; grandchildren, Jack (13), Matthew (11), and Allison (10); nieces and nephews; sister Elizabeth Dabbieri; and extended family and friends. He will be laid to rest in Pittston, PA at St. Joseph's Cemetery following services at Baloga Funeral Home.
