Harold Marvin Wells, 72, joined his heavenly Father on Monday, March 16, 2015. Service: 10 a.m. Friday at Crown of Life Lutheran Church, 6605 Pleasant Run Rd., Colleyville, with Pastor Ben Scheck officiating. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Friday in Chico Cemetery in Wise County. Visitation: Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Grapevine. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Mr. Wells' name to the American Cancer Society. Marvin was born Dec. 30, 1942, to James and Berniece Wells in Grapevine. He lived his whole life in the Grapevine, North Richland Hills and Fort Worth areas of the Metroplex. Growing up, he was a member of the Boy Scouts and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Marvin was a small-town man who lived in the big city. He was a gentle soul who never met a stranger and will be missed dearly. Marvin worked numerous jobs since the time he could push a broom or mow a yard. He retired from American Airlines in 2003, after 37 years of dedicated service. He was preceded in passing by his father; and daughter, Teresa Oravetz Williams. Survivors: Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dorothy Wells; daughters, Llora Jones and husband, Benjamin, of Aledo, and Marla Erickson and husband, Danny, of Weatherford; son, Frank Oravetz of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Heather, Hannah, Eric, Lindsay, D.J., Kris, Justin and Zoe; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Berniece L. Bailey; brother, Danny Wells and wife, Mononette; sister, Cyd Bailey; nephew, James Wells and wife, Amanda; great-niece, Makenzie; and many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
