Haroldleen "Jo" Downing

Haroldleen Cloquita “Jo” Downing was born on June 3, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Ida Cloquita (Sabin) Barnes and Jay Harold Barnes.  She passed away on March 1, 2023 in Haltom City, Texas at the age of 79 years old.

Jo attended Haltom Junior High School and then Birdville High School.  She owned Lariat’s Saloon with her husband Adran and they also owned A and J Boats.  She enjoyed playing darts and billiards. She was a frequent visitor at Winstar Casino, but she really loved to go fishing.  Going to Johnny Vance’s to go fishing with her as a grandchild was like a rite of passage. Jo also enjoyed attending the sporting events for her grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Adran Oatis Downing; brothers, Joe Vivier and Sylvester Vivier; and son, Mark Downing.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Thomas and husband, Nathan of Haltom City, Texas; son, Terry Dale and wife, Leslie of North Richland Hills, Texas; Diane Graham and husband, Wayno, Clinton Downing and wife, Lori and Bennett Downing; sister, Leona Sutton and husband, Coleman of Haltom City; grandchildren, Lisa Ray and husband, Corey, Cody Sparks, Stacey Dale, Cassie Mitchell and husband, Allen, Chase Dale and wife, Berkeley, Christopher Graham, Carrie Downing, Brian Downing and wife, Ashley, Greg Downing, and Kirk Downing ; great grandchildren, Stuart, Colton, Jared, Haylee, Rylee, Bradyn, Samantha, Brooklyn, Gage, Willow, Alexia, Adran, and Elizabeth; and great-great grandchildren, Matix and Cy.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 3, 2023 at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Crowley Cemetery.
