Helen, age 86-years old, died Friday, November 14, 2014. She was born April 3, 1928, in Blue Springs, MO. to Johnnie Lee Adams and Anna Marie Grube Adams. Her mother’s youngest brother Arthur, was present at the time, and always shared a very special relationship with his niece. Helen was united in marriage to William H. Myers May 29, 1953. She graduated from William Chrisman High School. Helen was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Independence, MO. Helen worked for Montgomery Ward, first as an order filler for the catalog store at the St. John-Belmont store. She and a close friend Wanda June Barber, traveled to NYNY, California, and Nashville, TN. Helen quit working for a few years to stay home with her children. She resumed working for Montgomery Ward in 1966 in the time keeping department. Eventually, she became a secretary in the regional offices. In 1979, Montgomery Ward moved the regional offices to Farmers Branch, Texas. Helen and Bill decided to make the move to Texas. Helen worked for Montgomery Ward until 1981. Helen then worked for Robertshaw Controls until she retired in 1990. Helen and Bill immediately left for a month to enjoy the mountains of Wyoming. Helen enjoyed traveling to various Gem and Mineral shows and meeting people. Bill and Helen have been members of the Topeka, Kansas, Ft. Worth, and Abilene Gem and Mineral Societies. Helen enjoyed beading, crochet, and genealogy. Helen is survived by her husband Bill, son James Lee Myers and his wife Jan of Owasso, OK, and daughter Sandra Ann Sanders and husband Jamey of Charleston, SC., Cousins Pauline Golden of Independence, MO, Mary Bradley of Kansas City, MO., Donald B. Grube of Oklahoma City, OK, Juan C. Grube, and James Grube of Raymore, MO. Chapel service will be Tuesday, November 18th at 2:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller, TX. Visitation will be at 1:00pm, preceding the service. Interment will be at Lee’s Summit Cemetery, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
