Helen Novak

FORT WORTH -- Helen Ann Novak, 94, forever "Mama Novak" in our hearts, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012.        Service: 11 a.m. Saturday in Calvario Funeral Chapel (formerly Shannon North). Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: in state 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.        Helen was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Marlin, but grew up in Fort Worth and remained a resident of the North Side. She retired in 1981, after 24 years with Wyatt/Kroger Food Stores, where she was National Checker of the Year in 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Vlady Novak; brother, Jake Rozanski; and sister, Florine Gurney.        Survivors: Sons, Robert and Weldon Novak; grandchildren, Kendall and Kevin Novak, Kristi Burke, David, Darren and Wesley Novak, and Stephanie Mayse; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
