Jack Roper SOUTHLAKE -- Jack Ray Roper, a servant of Christ, died peacefully with his family surrounding him Saturday, March 29, 2014. His long battle with cancer is over, and he is at home with his Savior. Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at White Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 S. White's Chapel Road, Southlake. Interment: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Westlake. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, Grapevine. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a donation to Forestburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 358, Forestburg, Texas 76239 or Texas Health Resources Foundation, 612 E. Lamar Blvd., Suite 300, Arlington, Texas 76011, www.texashealth.org/donate. Born June 5, 1953, to Ralph and Beth Burkhalter Roper in Amherst, his family moved to Southlake in 1970 where he met Marta Pollard. They have been married for 38 years. Jack graduated from the University of North Texas in 1974. He began his career in healthcare administration and worked for Texas Health Resources for 32 years. The past six years he loved spending time at his JR Ranch in Sunset. He was proud of his two daughters and delighted in his two precious grandchildren. Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife, Marta Roper; daughters, Rebecca Roper and Julie Roper Elliott and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Katie Grace and Jackson Elliott; parents, Ralph and Beth Roper; brother Steve (Mary); sister, Carolyn; his Empty Nester family at WCUMC; and his THR family.
