James Blakely, 35 of North Richland Hills, died on Tuesday July 22, 2014 at his home. Born January 11, 1979 in Creston, Iowa he was the son of Stephan & Cynthia Blakely. James attended Creston High School and graduated in 1997. After high school he joined the Marine Corps to serve his country and was stationed in Hawaii. He also had the privilege to travel the Pacific during his career and was honorably discharged in 2001. He moved to Texas to attend the Art Institute of Dallas. James worked at The City Club in Dallas, Cross Timbers Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Flower Mound and Park Healthcare in Bedford. James was a gifted chef and loved preparing meals. He enjoyed spending time at the pool with his friends at The Abbey where he lived, riding his bicycle, jigsaw puzzles, wood burning, and playing the piano. James is survived by his parents, Stephan and Cynthia Blakely of Keller. His brother, Richard Blakely (wife Karla) of Springville, IA and their children Andrew 15 and Elizabeth 10. His sister Tasha Schmieg (fiancé Dustin Moore) of Keller, TX and their children Kylie 8, Matthew 5, Kasen 2, Koby 10 months. James was a very proud uncle and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Family visitation will be Friday July 25, 2014 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lucas Funeral Home 137 E Hills Street Keller, TX 76248 His life will be celebrated Saturday July 26, 2014 10:00 am at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. Burial will be a private ceremony at the Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday July 29, 2014.
