N. RICHLAND HILLS -James N. McMahon, Sr., 73, of North Richland Hills, finished his tasks on earth and went to his Lord on November 21, 2005. Funeral: 1 pm, Friday at Lucas Sylvania Funeral Home with Rev. Dwayne Greene officiating. Burial: Masonic graveside at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Bearers of his casket will be: Melvin Davis, B.L. Herd, Ray Johnson, James Earl, Herbert Kavanaugh, Fred Hopton-Jones, Billy Byers and Jim Lucas. Honorary bearers will be retired officers of Riverside State Bank: Frank Campbell, Perry Henson, Paschal White, Tommy Walling, Erskine Jackson, Clifford Pearson, Bob Kinney, Clifford Flow, Burtis Moses and Gordon Summers. Visitation: 5 pm to 7pm, Thursday at the funeral home. James was a native of Fort Worth, TX. His many accomplishments include: 1950 graduate of Carter Riverside High School, Fort Worth; a graduate of Texas Wesleyan College; and completed the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU in 1972. He is remembered for 47 years at Riverside State Bank, having started in 1948; and Texas American Bank in Fort Worth. Later on, he completed five more years in the Banking Industry as President, CEO and Chairman Emeritus of Western American Bank of Bedford, TX. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Riverside Chapter and Council; 50 year Master Mason Member of the Riverside Masonic Lodge; Past President of the Moslah Shrine Chanters, Past President of the National Shrine Chanters Association. Mr. McMahon also served on the Miss Texas Board of Directors for several years. He was also a member of Oak Knoll Baptist Church. James completed his dream by loving and working his 4J Cattle Ranch in Tennyson, TX. He and his wife, Peg, moved to San Angelo, TX. Due to ill health, he moved back home to Fort Worth in July 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Abbie Joe McMahon. We wish to thank all, who have so lovingly stood by us. Survivors: His wife of 53 years, Peggy Huffman McMahon; two sons, James (Jim) N. McMahon, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Piano, Jerry McMahon of San Angelo; grandson, James Donald McMahon of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Tiffany Lynn and Crystal Nicole McMahon of Piano, and Brittany Victoria McMahon of Fort Worth. Other survivors are nephews, Jerry Dean Huffman, Jr. of Washington, D.c. and Lee Huffman of Laredo and several cousins. Also, his faithful dog, Brandi, who slept under his bed during his stay at the James L. West Hospice House. James leaves many good friends in Tennyson, San Angelo and the Fort Worth areas.
