Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. John was born November 16, 1948 in Bryan. He loved canoeing and hiking. Survivors: Wife, Denise Butler; daughter, Sara Mattes and husband, Aron of Lewisville; parents, Albert and Katie Butler of Odessa; siblings, Ann Huffman and husband, Jim of Centenial, Co., Robert (Bob) Butler and wife, Julie of Duncanville, Rebecca (Becky) Hogan and husband, Jon of Wylie, and David Butler and wife, Cari of Odessa.
