NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- John Robert McFadin of Possum Kingdom Lake passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at the age of 84. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Smithfield United Methodist Church, 6701 Smithfield Road, North Richland Hills. Interment: Following the services John will be laid to rest next to his wife in Smithfield Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. John was born on Dec. 21, 1924. He was a devoted citizen of Smithfield before he retired at Possum Kingdom Lake. He was a Navy veteran who served his country in World War II and a 32nd-degree Mason. John was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Frances Jo. Survivors: John is survived by twin sons, John McFadin and Joe McFadin, and wife, Rosemary; grandchildren Lori, Mark and wife, Marisa, and Scott and wife, Kimberly; great-grandchildren, Hayley and Emerson; sister, Faye Harris; and dear friend, Mary Lou Palmros.
