Jonathan Marshall Wright, 33, of Carthage, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 while vacationing in Los Angeles, California. Jonathan was born May 28, 1981 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He spent his formative years in Gainesville, Texas, and was a graduate of Gainesville High School. Jonathan attended The University of Texas, Austin, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Government. He continued on to Howard Payne University where he pursued a degree in Christian Education, with an emphasis in Youth Ministry. At the time of his passing, he served as the Minister of Students at Central Baptist Church in Carthage, Texas. Jonathan’s ability to develop longstanding relationships in the field of youth ministry has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of students over the past 15 years. He was an avid Texas Rangers fan, served on many organizations in his community, and committed his life to sharing the love of Christ to youth and their families. Wright is survived by his grandmother; Francis Wright, Keller, TX, mother Judi Teas and her husband George Teas of Trinity, TX; father Henry “Hank” Wright and his wife Becky Wright of Tahlequah, OK; sister Kelly Wright Jennings and her husband James Jennings of Krum, Texas; brother Andrew A. Wright and his wife Jessica Wright of Houston , Texas . He is also survived by his niece; Allison Jennings, nephews; Brennan and Cavin Jennings; and the rest of his family and friends. He is preceded in death by this brother Benjamin Todd Wright. Services will be held at Lucas Funeral Home located at 1321 Precinct Line Rd, Hurst, TX 76053 on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10 am with graveside services directly after at Mount Olivet Cemetery located at 2301 N Sylvania Ave Fort Worth, TX 76111. Visitation will be on Tuesday. July 22, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Lucas Funeral Home.
