Judith Ann Pannell Lanford, 76, was born August 12, 1946, in Sherman, Texas and died July 2, 2023, in Richland Hills, Texas from chronic illnesses.  After graduating from Diamond Hill High school in 1964, Judy married William Dan Lanford, III (Bill) on October 3, 1964, in Haltom City, Texas. They first lived in Denton and then Fort Worth before settling in Haltom City for the remainder of their 18 years of marriage and raising their three daughters.  Judy worked as a homemaker and mother until divorcing in 1984, and worked as a receptionist at various businesses until her health declined and she was forced to leave the workforce.  Judy was known for her love of movies and movie stars from The Golden Age of Hollywood, and for her gentle, kind spirit, and her love for her children, grandchildren, and family.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother Pauline Susie McCurdy Pannell Morris, stepfather, Robert Lee Morris, father Dan Philip Pannell, stepmother Ethel Dean Pannell, sister Lisa Kay Pannell Sanders, brother Larry Wayne Pannell and nephew Matthew Brian Pannell, stepbrother

Johnny Morris, brothers-in-law Nicholas Stephen Penton and Robert Lynn Sanders, aunt Helen Louise McCurdy, uncles George William McCurdy (Doris), Harrel Hunter McCurdy (Glydville Crawford) and Lester Lee “Jake” McCurdy. 

She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Ann Lanford Tucker Titcomb (Anthony), granddaughter Jennifer Christine Williams and great-grandson Alexander Blaise Sandoval; grandson Michael Ross Williams (Cindy) and great-grandson Bodhi Rhys Williams; grandson William

David Tucker; daughter Lara Beth Lanford Sowell (Mark) and granddaughter Tara Camille Sowell Riley (Stanley) and great-grandson Stanley Wayne Riley III, great-granddaughter Madeline Israel Riley; grandson Norman Tyler Sowell (Abigail); grandson Jonathan Edward

Sowell; granddaughter Andria Marie Sowell; daughter Susan Diane Lanford Goforth Trevino (Joseph) and granddaughter Selah Grace Goforth and her father James Goforth; sister-in-law Michelle Pannell and nephew Marcus Wayne Pannell (Jennifer) and great-niece Alyssa Pannell;  great-nephews Dalton Pannell, Christopher Dale Teague; nephew Bradley Austin Pannell and mother Claudia Jane Hughes Pannell; nephew Jason Sorenson (Nicole) and great-nieces Kaitlynn Sorenson Cox (Austin) and great-great niece Mackenzie Cox with a great-great nephew on the way; great-nephew Landyn Sorenson; nephew Michael Schaut (Jenna) and great-nephew Aaron Schaut, and great-niece Samantha Schaut;  sister Nancy Sue Pannell Penton and niece Nicole Sharlene Penton Moore (James) and great-niece Kendall Marie Penton Garcia (Mario) and great-great-nephew Beckham Drew Garcia; great-nieces Makena Moore and Emmalisa Moore; sister Rebecca Lynn Pannell Jones Ashmore (Robert) and niece Amy Lynn Jones Oliveira Jenkins (Allen) and great-niece Maggie Oliveira, great-nephew Ross Oliveira; nephew Milton Raymond Jones and great-nephew Jordan Jones, great-nieces Bella Jones and Madison Jones; nephew Jeremy Shane Sanders and great-nieces Carly Sanders and Mallory Sanders; nephew Zachary Nathan Sanders and her beloved Aunt Joyce McCurdy. 

 

There will be a memorial service to honor the memory of Judith Ann Pannell Lanford on July 22, 2023 at William and Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue Fort Worth, Texas at 2:30 p.m. with burial of remains to occur at West Hill Cemetery next to her cherished grandparents, Samuel Martis and Bessie Pearl McCurdy and uncle Harrel Hunter McCurdy at 5:00 on July 22, 2023 at West Hill Cemetery located at 1304 West Lamar Street Sherman, Texas 75092. Family and friends will have lunch together ahead of the service and interment. Please contact the family for details.
