Judy Gayle Wright

Judy Gayle (Morris) Wright entered into the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on March 20, 2023, in Fort Worth.  She was 76 years old and was married to her loving husband Jerry for 48 years. Judy was born on December 24, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Gladys Opal (Welborn) and Arvell Eugene Morris.  The family later moved to Duncan, OK where Judy and her siblings happily enjoyed the remainder of their childhood. Judy graduated from Duncan High School and attended East Central State in Ada, Oklahoma.

After college Judy's first job was working at the First Baptist Church of Duncan.  She eventually moved to White Plains, NY where she was employed by IBM corporation.  Judy soon returned home and began working for Sun Oil Company in Dallas, which ultimately began a successful 43-year career in the oil and gas industry. After working for Champlain Oil, Union Pacific Resources, and XTO, Judy retired from Exxon Mobil in 2015. She was the publisher of an Oil & Gas Newsletter, which was distributed nationally and was instrumental in educating, informing, and connecting people throughout the industry.  Judy had a passion for her work, and she was deeply respected and admired by her colleagues.

Judy married Jerry Wright, the love of her life, in 1974 in Fort Worth.  They began a love affair that spanned 5 decades and produced many happy memories for their family and friends.  Judy loved to travel with Jerry around the country watching baseball games.  When at home she enjoyed the company of her precious animals and especially her family and friends during the holidays. She was an avid reader and collected figurines. Her smile was infectious, and she had a real love for the Horned Frogs & the TCU community as well.  Judy will be remembered for possessing an exceptionally sweet spirit and being sincerely kind to everyone she met.  Above all, Judy was deeply loved and cherished.  She will be dearly missed by all.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Arvell, and Gladys Morris; Aunt Mae Welborn of Burkburnett, TX and brother, Jerry Morris of Duncan, OK.
