Laverne Rusk

MANSFIELD -- LaVerne Jones Rusk, 80, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011.        Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Hawkins Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home.        LaVerne loved to travel, fly and collect bells. She survived Hurricane Iniki in a high school gymnasium in Hawaii and was also a breast cancer survivor. She was a member of Tate Springs Baptist Church.        LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Linuel H. Rusk; parents, Ollie C. and Alpha Jones; and sister, Theresa Stovall.        Survivors: Son, Darryl Rusk; daughter, Shari Joel; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
