Leland "Lee" Patrick Boenisch

Leland “Lee” Patrick Boenisch was born on October 9, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Martha Marie (Pope) Boenisch and Albert Adolph Boenisch. On September 15, 2024, at the age of 74, Lee passed away peacefully in Fort Worth, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Lee was a proud graduate of Lake Worth High School and retired from a dedicated career at Lockheed Martin. He was a devout Catholic, an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Aledo, and a committed Knight of Columbus. Lee’s faith guided his life and was a source of strength and inspiration to those around him.

Lee had a deep love for life’s simple joys. He cherished traveling, especially with family Steve and Bonnie Norris, and was an avid outdoorsman, passionate about hunting and fishing. Woodworking was one of his favorite pastimes, and his loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys was unwavering. Known fondly as the “Pecan Man,” Lee took great pride in cracking and selling pecans locally, sharing his harvest with friends and family as tokens of his generous spirit. Above all, Lee was a devoted family man, a beloved father, and a cherished “PaPa” who found his greatest joy in his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Clinton Heinrich.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sharon (Norris) Boenisch of Aledo, Texas, and his adoring daughters, Candace Haw of Aledo; Alicia Miller of Aledo; Misty Wakefield and husband, Ryan McClure, of Aledo; and Neisy Boenisch and husband, Kiel Bruner, of Granbury. His precious grandchildren, Heidi Haw, Christian Haw, Tyler Miller, McKayla Miller, Madison Miller, Arabella Wakefield, Weston Wakefield, Liam McClure, Abigail McClure, Chasity Foster, and Mason Bruner, along with great-granddaughter Everleigh Flores-Haw, were the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Heinrich of Austin; brother, Kenneth Boenisch of Weatherford; brother-in-law, Steve Norris and wife Bonnie of Benbrook; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home in Fort Worth, with a rosary prayer service at 7:00 P.M. The funeral mass will take place at 10:00 on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Parrish, 16250 Old Weatherford Road, Aledo, Texas, 76008. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Lee’s memory to Center of Hope in Weatherford, Texas.

Lee’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
