Nathaniel Green was born in Ennis, Texas on January 24, 1949___the eldest of four children to bless the union of Ella Mae Green Biggins and Nathaniel Biggins. He attended school in the Fort Worth Independent School District, graduating from Milton L. Kirkpatrick Junior-Senior High School in 1967. He was a distinguished member of his high school varsity basketball team and also played on the 1967 Texas 3A basketball championship team at Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas. In 2019, Nathaniel was recognized as a Prairie View Interscholastic League Coaches Association ('' PVILCA") Hall of Fame Basketball inductee for his participation in the PVIL.

After high school Nathaniel attended Texas Southern University ( " TSU ") where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Art Education in 1973. He later earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from TSU in 1979.

In 1971, he married Guan Lydia and to their union, they welcomed one daughter: Akilah Green. At his passing, Nate and Guan had been married for 50 1/2 years.

In 2015, after working for many years in the insurance and personnel service industries, Nathaniel retired from the Houston Food Bank as a human resources executive.

Nathaniel was good natured and possessed a pleasant spirit and a liberal mind. He confessed to Christ at an early age and was a member of Lee Avenue Baptist Church during his growing up years.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Biggins and his mother, Ella Mae Biggins.

He leaves to cherish his life and memory: his devoted wife: Guan Green; children: Akilah Green, Billy Ray Spriggins and Wanda Denise Haywood;  a brother: Wendell Earl Biggins, Sr. of Fort Worth; sisters: Abbie Mills(James) of Fort Worth and Cindy Biggins-Joseph of Houston; grandchildren and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
