HURST -- Rayburn David Zak, 80, passed away Thursday May 1, 2014 in Bedford, TX Service: 10:00am Monday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in N.R. Hills. Internment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: Sunday 2:00 - 4:00, with Rosary at 3:00 at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Ray was born Aug 5, 1933 in Runnels County TX. He graduated from Ballinger High School and attended UT Arlington. Ray served in the United States Army 11th Airborne division. Prior to his retirement, Ray worked as an architectural draftsman. He was a founding member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ray enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Zak of San Angelo. Survivors: wife of 59 years, Hazel of Hurst, daughters Pamela Dianne Jones and Debbie Crawford; son Gary and wife Shelley, all of Bedford and son Joseph and wife Kimberly of Saginaw; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Grace Smith and Susanne Barta of San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St.John the Apostle Social Services, North Richland Hills.
