Raymond Morgan Watkins, 91, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, in Bedford. Service: Inurnment will be at a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made in his name to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. Raymond was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Albia, Iowa, to David and Sarah Jane Watkins. He served his country proudly during World War II in the Pacific Campaign. Raymond was a tech sergeant with the 14th Air Force in the U.S. Army Air Corps and received multiple medals, including the Army Commendation and Occupation Medals. He married the love of his life, Marjorie Duderstadt, in Excelsior Springs, Mo., in 1948. Raymond retired from Carrier Air Conditioning after many years of dedicated service. He was also a 32nd-degree Mason, a York Rite Mason and a Shriner. Raymond was preceded in passing by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Marjorie Watkins; daughter, Gretchen Lefler; son-in-law, Gary Lefler; and his parents. Survivors: Children, Gordon Watkins and wife, Vicki, Marjorie Palmer and husband, Earl, and Warren Watkins; grandsons, Bryan, Shaun, Sean and Christopher; great-granddaughters, Caitlyn, Olivia, Ellory and Lorelei; and great-grandsons, Benjamin and Ethan.
