BEDFORD -- Richard Hill Allen, 84, a retired machinist for Bell Helicopter, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, in Grapevine. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Interment: Midlothian Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Richard Allen was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Cedar Hill. He was a resident of Bedford since 1999 and was a former resident of Arlington since 1965. He was a jig bore machinist for Bell Helicopter and retired after 25 years. Richard loved music and was still actively playing guitar, bass and piano. He was a strong Christian and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Arlington for over 40 years. Survivors: Daughter, Debra McWaters and her husband, Ed, of Arlington; son, Mark Allen and his wife, Jennifer, of Dallas; granddaughters, Megan and Lauren Allen; and sisters, Gladys Gammon and Jeline Pegram.
