Robert "Bob" Wayne Tidwell

ROANOKE -- Robert "Bob" Wayne Tidwell, 86, of Roanoke passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, with his family by his side. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Tuesday in Medlin Cemetery in Trophy Club. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. Bob was born in Roanoke on Jan. 10, 1928, to the late John and Lavonia Tidwell. Bob joined the Navy at age 17 and proudly served in World War II. He married Beverly June Ryon on Aug. 18, 1950. Bob was a beloved member of the Roanoke community and an avid fisherman. Bob frequently supported the town of Roanoke by donating fish for causes ranging from church charity events to school fundraisers. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and daughter, Tammy Tidwell. Survivors: Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beverly Tidwell; daughters, Vicki Branam and her husband, Jerry, and Rhonda Collins; grandchildren, Robert Collins, Jerry Branam, Brandy Buffinton and her husband, Matt; and great-grandson, Conner Forehand.
