BEDFORD -- Robert Gordon Christensen, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014. Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, Martin United Methodist Church, 2621 Bedford Road, Bedford. Entombment will follow at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Alexandria, La. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Martin United Methodist Church. A native of Chicago, Ill., Robert was born Nov. 19, 1929, to Leslie and Charlotte Bloedel Christensen. He was an avid golfer at Rolling Hills Country Club from the 1960s to '90s and a hockey referee for the Fort Worth Amateur Hockey Association. Survivors: Wife, Jo Lou Christensen; son, John Christensen and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Kimberly Christensen; grandchildren, Jonathan Pierre, Jordan Pierre, all of Bedford; nieces, Tracy Hassell and husband, Joe Ben, of Colleyville, Laurie Bartholemew and husband, Brandon, of Grand Forks, N.D.; nephews, Chris Swanson and wife, Julie, of Baton Rouge, La., Scott Christensen of Grand Forks, N.D.; and sister-in-law, Eunice Christensen of Grand Forks, N.D.
