Robert Wayne Hester

Bedford- Robert” Wayne” Hester , 70, was welcomed into heaven on April 23 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Merkel, Texas on September 26, 1944 to the late Pauleen and Buster Hester. After graduating from Merkel High School, he went on to get a BBA in Accounting from North Texas State University. He married Linda Alexander in 1966 and served in the Army as an auditor. He worked at Bell Helicopter for 31 years, first in auditing and then as Manager of International Credit and Finance. After retirement he spent many hours working in his wood shop. His wood creations have been given to many special friends and family over the years. Wayne’s gentle and giving spirit will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mike Hester, and his sister Judy Dudley. Survivors: his wife of 49 years, Linda, brother and sister-in-law; Jimmy and Patricia Hester, daughters and son-in-law; Monica and Chris Swoboda, daughter and son-in-law; Kathy and Mike Beers, Grandchildren; Brendan and Jordan Swoboda, Rebecca and Ainsley Beers.
